Venair and E3 TEAM (EPSEVG) Collaboration for an Electric Motorcycle Competition

Venair takes pride in its close collaboration with the university team E3 TEAM from EPSEVG (UPC Vilanova i la Geltrú) in the thrilling challenge of designing and manufacturing an electric racing motorcycle from scratch for the international Motostudent competition.

Venair, a provider of customizable hoses

Played a crucial role in the development of the motorcycle's engine cooling system. The E3 TEAM, composed of students from various engineering disciplines, took on the task of creating a motorcycle that would comply with strict regulations and design requirements, equipping it with a 22 kW nominal power motor and 80 N/m of torque provided by the competition.

Electric Motorcycle Structure

The motorcycle, with dimensions and power similar to the Moto 3 category in the Motorcycle World Championship, presented the additional challenge of requiring distilled water liquid cooling.

It is at this critical point that Venair's products came into action, forming an essential part of the cooling system that allowed maintaining the engine temperature even in the most extreme conditions.

The double-beam aluminum chassis and the damping system, meticulously designed and manufactured by the talented team of students, significantly contributed to the structure and overall performance of the motorcycle.

Motostudent Competition

The Motostudent competition, with its two-year season, offers technical and competitive challenges.

In the MS1 phase, the team submitted detailed technical reports, including engineering memoranda, plans, electrical diagrams, and simulations, with this phase being crucial to obtaining the organization's score.

In the MS2 phase, static and dynamic tests tested the integrity of the vehicle, and the open track classification culminated in an intense final race.

Results

Competing against 43 motorcycles, the E3 TEAM from EPSEVG achieved an impressive 19th position overall and secured the second-best result among UPC universities.

Although the qualification for the final race slipped away by just 0.3 seconds, Venair celebrates the remarkable achievements of the team and takes pride in contributing to the motorcycle's success in this exciting competition.
